What it does

More control over every filename.

Rename Photos 3.0 goes beyond a single base name. Build naming patterns from custom text, original filenames, numbering, dates, prefixes, and suffixes; reorder the pieces; then review clear Before → After previews before anything is changed.

  • Build flexible naming rules from text, numbering, dates, prefixes, suffixes, and original filenames
  • Preview every filename with clear Before → After results
  • Save reusable naming recipes on your device
  • Rename supported Files in place where provider access allows

  • Export in Original, JPEG, or PNG and optionally combine larger batches into a ZIP
  • Preserve photo metadata during supported exports
  • Light and Dark Mode support with privacy-safe diagnostics
Batch renaming on iPhone

Can I batch rename photos and files on iPhone?

Yes. For Photos, Rename Photos creates renamed copies so your originals remain untouched. For supported Files, the app can rename in place where the selected provider and authorized folder allow it. Every workflow is preview-first and explicit before execution.

You can also choose Original, JPEG, or PNG for photo exports, keep metadata where supported, combine larger batches into a ZIP, and share or save the result through the standard iOS share sheet.

What is new in Rename Photos 3.0?

Version 3.0 introduces a redesigned batch-renaming workspace, flexible naming components, Before → After previews, reusable naming recipes, supported Files rename-in-place, Original/JPEG/PNG photo exports, optional ZIP packaging, improved Dark Mode, and privacy-safe diagnostics.

Are my original photos changed?

No. Photo workflows create renamed copies so the originals remain untouched. Supported Files can be renamed in place only where provider capability and authorized folder access allow it.

Does Rename Photos upload my photos or filenames?

No. Processing happens locally on your device. No account is required, and Rename Photos does not upload your photos, filenames, or naming rules to a Rename Photos server.
